Fabulous ride! The weather was warm, the colors were awesome.  Big crowd of passengers! Hope to ride again next weekend for the "peak" color weekend.  Annonymous

My friend and I just LOVED the ride. She had the best hobo outfit, in my opinion, but the entire ride was great, and you volunteers surely do a wonderful job and put your entire heart into it!  I intend to tell everyone I know it's a wonderful ride and reasonably priced, too.  Thanks for a great time!  Karen

Thanks!  Wonderful!  from us Canadians

My wife, daughter and I rode the train on September 10,2011.  I just wanted to say what a great experience it was!  The people are great as well as the train and ride!  Great bang for the buck!  If we lived closer I would love to volunteer!  When we come back we will ride again.  Thanks  Justin

My son Joud had such a wonderful time on the train!
Thank you for the ride!

Hello!

I was in Duluth last summer for the Tall Ships Weekend and then took a ride on your train. It was the Anniversary trip. Here are copies of the photos I took that day. Thanks for the fun trip!

When we went up to Duluth for a week for the tall ships and we went to ride on the Lake Superior & Mississippi Railroad on their 140th anniversary. They had characters of US Grant & his wife & daughter. What a great trip & a great way to spend part of our visit to Duluth. That railroad trip was really the deal & great for the whole family. They talk about it along the ride and tell you what you see out the window and what it costs to maintain. Everyone's dressed to the era with engineers and others.

We rode on the Sunday 10:30 a.m. train ride. We used a BOGO coupon, and kids 3 and under are free. The train is amazing...and very authentic looking. This was more of an "Experience" to me than just a scenic train ride. This is an all-volunteer historic attraction, and while this is visually evident by the aging ticket booth counter and poorly maintained parking lot, it only makes me appreciate it more. "All aboard" was called, and the uniformed volunteers took our boarding pass and away we went. The very back portion of the train was a flat bed car with benches and has an open top. I spent most of the ride here getting excellent pictures. I did take the time to sit in, relax, and enjoy the completely original interior of the train cars. The one attached to the back was a "smoking car"- used in the past for men to gather and smoke etc. after meals. The next two cars are for passenger seating. The seats could configure so that you sit normally in rows facing forward, or you arrange the seats so that 4 people can face each other. Everything is completely original too, so it was fun observing the details of the equipment. Near the end of the trip, the train personnel walk through the aisles and offer different items for purchase at a very passive no pressure kind of way. We bought our son a wooden pine train whistle for $4 - it sounds nice (and isn't that annoying)! This was a very good experience overall. I appreciate the volunteer efforts to entertain and educate the public.

Enjoyed my ride. The scenery was fantastic. I got to see things from a perspective I’d never get to see any other way but from the train.

Absolutely unbelievable scenery! I didn’t know that part of Duluth existed. It’s like you are in the wilderness yet still in the city. The view of St Louis Bay is great.

Enjoyed the ride, we could take the whole family and not break the bank. A fun thing to do right here in Duluth.
